Penpal 2

Today we released Penpal 2.

After Effects has always been way behind Illustrator when it comes to editing paths. You can’t even align one point to another or zero a tangent in AE. This lack of love for shape layers forces animators into extreme preparation and awkward round-trips to Illustrator that break creative flow.

Thanks to Penpal’s new draggability, it’s easier and more intuitive to edit your paths in After Effects with access to power and precision that frees up your workflow from excessive planning and awkward hacks.

I know folks who don't use Illustrator at all - they design everything in AE + Penpal. Penpal can't do everything Illustrator can. But dock it in your workspace, and you'll need Illustrator a lot less.

We’ve recorded an entirely new series of training videos for Penpal 2, as well as refreshing the User Guide with more imagery and making it easier to read.
